After visiting Nakhal fort, we went in a narrow road that supposed to lead us to Al Thawara hot spring. The road was all surrounded by very high palm trees! we think that is the reason why the place has the name of Nakhal “Nakhal is the Arabic name of palm” and wherever you go you will find palm trees.

Finally we arrived to Al Thawra hot spring, it was a hot day, though it is really relaxing to swim in the warm water. According to the locals the spring water is a mineral water with temperature of 40c and it has many therapeutic benefits.

Al Thawara hot spring is located in Wilayt Nakhal which is one hour away from Muscat, it is one of the famous attractions in Oman, luckily when we went there, it wasn’t that crowded at all.
There are certain things you can do when visiting Al Thawara hot spring:
- Of course swimming : there is dedicated pool where you can relax or swim.
- As the local are doing you may enjoy having your lunch meal by the spring.
- Exploring the area and enjoying its natural beauty, in additions to mountain views there are number of traditional houses of villagers living by the spring and who is still engaged in traditional practices like raising sheeps and goats.
The calm and the peaceful atmosphere is why we loved the place moreover, the very friendly people as in everywhere in Oman.
